I see now the connection of Rabbi Zonnenfeld to the Seven Kehilot.
Rabbi Zonnenfeld was a learned man, but he was still a youngster when he studied under Rabbi Zwebner-Shag in Kobersdorf. He was there barely 3 years. If choosing between the two, Rabbi Zwebner would be the choice. He was also the elder whom Zonnenfeld followed, not only to Kobersdorf but also as far as Jerusalem.

But, as we say it in Hebrew אל תסתכל בקנקן אלא במה שיש בו = do not look at the container, but at its contents. It is not the label, but the wine in the bottle.

In Rabbi Kinstlicher’s book “Hachatam Sofer vetalmidav”, p. 497 is written that Rabbi Josef Chaim Sonnenfeld studied after his marriage at the yeshiva of Rabbi Abraham Zwebner-Shag at Kobersdorf. His father-in-law (first marriage) was R. Shlomo Salzer (Selzer?) from Kobersdorf, and there Rabbi Josef Chaim lived from 1870 until 1873, when he went to Eretz Israel.

Rabbi Josef Chaim Sonnenfeld was born in Verbó Hungary (today Vrbové Slovakia), was a student of the KTAV SOFER Rabbi Abraham Samuel Benjamin Sofer (Schreiber) who was Chief Rabbi of Pressburg and the son of Rabbi Moshe Sofer Schreiber (the CHATAM SOFER). Rabbi Sonnenfeld left Slovakia and moved at the age of 24 to Jerusalem.

Can anyone tell me the connection of Rabbi Josef Chaim Sonnenfeld to the SHEVA KHILOT?
