Bonjour, Je me permets de vous écrire pour savoir si vous avez des informations sur les enfants et petits enfants de Meir Eisenstadter. En effet mon arriere grand père s’appelait Simon eisenstadter et son père Isak, Moses Eisenstadter.

My father Professor Solomon/Salomo Birnbaum researched the family genealogy in the 1930s and it was published in Lodz in 1938 in a book of some of his father Nathan Birnbaum’s Yiddish religious essays titled Ais Laases. My father’s genealogical chart and text show the son of Rabbi Meier (“Maharam Asch”, from whom Rabbi Moritz (Mordechai) Gruenwald was descended, as Benjamin, not Elieser.

Incidentally, there are very few surviving copies of Ais Laases because as Josef (Yossel) Friedenson, a Holocaust survivor of the Lodz ghetto told me, the stack of books from before the War awaiting distribution were burnt by them as firewood in the terrible cold winter.
