They travel in enormous flocks with as many as 11,000 birds. On peak migration days, the lines formed by flocks extend up to 200 km.. Except for the leaders, the storks don’t waste time and energy searching for the migration route or hunting for thermals. They simply follow the birds ahead of them, like marchers in a one long parade.
