His parents were Resl and Shimon Wiener. Shimon was a butcher and he died between 1725 and 1734. Shimon left behind a widow, Charna, who was likely his second wife.

Shimon’s family likely came from Vienna (Wien).
Shimon’s father Lazar was also murdered because he was Jew. Perhaps he died at the time of the expulsion of Jews from Vienna.in 1669/1670.

Shimon had three other sons.
