Als Antwort auf Carole Vogel. That´s right, but in the civil metrical records after 1895 all births, marriages and deaths were registered at the civil registry office which was responsable for the village, where these things happened.

Als Antwort auf Gert Polster. @Gert. The Mattersdorf Jewish metrical records contain birth records of several of the grandchildren of Pessl who were born in Forchtenau.before 1895.

Wenn die Familie in Forchtenau lebte, dürfte Pessl Schischa auch dort verstorben sein. In diesem Fall ist der Todesfall nicht in den Standesamtsmatriken von Mattersdorf sondern in jenen von Forchtenau eingetragen.
Todesfälle wurden generell am Standesamt des Sterbeortes nicht des Begräbnisortes eingetragen!
Im Umkehrschluss heißt dies, dass jene Personen, die nicht in den Mattersdorfer Totenmatriken enthalten sind, auswärts verstorben sind.

Pessel is Josefa (Pepi) Trebitsch, the daughter of the well known Gabriel Trebitsch and his first wife Miriam Loebl/Schischa. Pessel was born circa 1832 and married Ignatz (Isak) Schischa in 1853. They had at least five children: Fani, Marie (likely Miriam), Sophie (Sissel), David, and Samuel. The family lived in Forchtenau.

Samuel married Jehudess Leitner and had eight children.
